Dear Friend;

If you’re like me and millions of other guitarists around the world, you probably have or have had lots of questions about the guitar. Not only about how to play the guitar and how to do things and get better, but about the instrument itself.

Questions like, “Is it better to learn on an acoustic or and electric?”,  “What’s the difference between one type of strings and another?”, or “How do I change my guitar strings properly?”

Theses are all questions that guitar players learn over time but frequently there’s some embarrassment in the learning process.

I can remember the first time I broke my thinnest “E” string. I went to the music store and said I need a new bottom string for my guitar. Well, it was physically on the bottom. How did I know that it was actually called the top string. I found out that the thinnest E string was called the top string because it sounded the highest.

This is a simple example, but it illustrates that there is more to the guitar than strumming some chords and picking some notes.

I began playing back in the mid 60’s. I started on my Dad’s acoustic  but I wanted to play rock and roll so I really wanted an electric. My first guitar and amp came from Sears. It really didn’t play very well but I didn’t know the difference. I thought that a guitar was a guitar. That is until I played my friend’s Fender. Wow! What a difference. My friend’s guitar was easier to play and what I knew sounded better.

I was lucky to have a Dad who loved music and who recognized my dedication to learning to play. I soon had my own Fender guitar. That was around 40 years ago. Thanks to my Father especially, I’ve had years of enjoyment and a lively career playing music, teaching and as a sales consultant for a music store chain.

So why am I telling you this?

If your dream is to play the guitar, I can help you.

First, I’ve compiled three information pamphlets that are free for you to download. You’ll get information on three very important areas that you need to know about, as you are making your decisions about the guitar. The link that’ll take you to the website where you can download these pamphlets is at the bottom of this page.

There is no obligation to purchase anything, but of course if you are just learning there is additional help that you can get from this and from my other websites.

The Beginner Guitar Guide

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve played for about 40 years. During this time I’ve worked as a professional musician. I’ve toured the United States and Canada.

I’ve taught hundreds of people to play the guitar. Some are now teachers themselves. Others have become profession musicians as well. Most of them just enjoy the fact that they can pick up a guitar and play the songs that they like.

I’m also a sales consultant for a chain of music stores.

This has given me a wealth of experience. Because I’ve played and been around guitars most of my life I have learned a lot. Some from personal
